I'm trans lesbian. I agree with the points being made here. I am also not unfamiliar with human beings, so I have no illusion that anyone, beyond a handful who know me well, will ever care how I feel about anything. The vast majority are indifferent to anything that doesn't immediately affect them. A relative handful are just looking for their chance to do harm to anyone different.

I don't expect logic to matter to most people. I don't expect anyone to understand me. I will certainly try to communicate that trans people are people, in spaces where I might be heard, but I don't expect the world to change to suit me.

Maybe the future will be better for trans folks. Maybe it won't. Either way, I gotta live now.
