I've become really interested in the Bible's backstory recently, and will be focusing on translations and alternate versions as I go forward in seminary.

The Bible *is* God's word, but it came into its present form(s) through some really convoluted, messy human channels. The big themes of the Bible have to do with love, social justice and humility - these are the things followers of the Bible should focus on. How my neighbor dresses, what they believe and who they love are none of my business. I'm called to love them and help them when I can.
