Political correctness is a tool some people use to feel superior to others without having to think. Actually treating other people with respect must include some measure of insecurity — we can’t know how other people wish to be treated until we interact with them, and risk accidentally offending. I prefer to take that chance, and to apologize and seek clarification if necessary because that’s how I want to be treated. I hate when people make assumptions about me — whether they have good intentions or not.

Censorship is only censorship of the government does it. If the audience doesn’t want to hear offensive jokes, and boos the comedian who tells them off the stage, that’s not censorship. That’s a comedian failing.
