That which most Americans call "Christianity" bears little resemblance to the teachings of Jesus - whether those Americans are for or against it. From where I'm standing, it looks like the people who are most invested in studying and understanding the Bible, in context, are the progressives. So, I'm going with them - they can teach me more.
